CanonQuest Focus is a a scripture based, originally illustrated matching board game with a twist. It is an easy game for a child to learn and families/friends to enjoy. Don't be surprised if the youngest participants outplay their elders.
Number of Players: Two and up
Object of the Game:
Find the most pairs of matching cards.
Setup
Shuffle and spread the cards picture-side-down on the CanonQuest Fcous game board.
Game Play
- Youngest player goes first. Players take turns, to the left,
- Player begins by turning over one card picture-side-up. The card must be turned over completely, so that all players can see it.
- The Player describes the scripture verse or parts of the the event depicted. If the description is correct turn over the second card.
- A Match: A player makes a match if the two cards turned picture-side-up are identical.
- When a match is made, the player takes both cards and places them in front of him or her.
- A Miss: A player misses if the two cards turned over are not identical. When a player misses, he or she turns the two cards picture-side-down again, in the same place.
- That player's turn ends-and all players try to remember which cards were turned over, for future matches.
- The game continues until all cards have been matched and removed from the playing area. All players then count up their matching pairs.
End of the Game
The player who has the most pairs of matching cards wins.
Game Play Variations
- Just turn a card to make a match. No description needed. This variation is great for all ages and knowledge levels.
- Each person has 3 turns to match cards. Keep track of the person who can explain the events in most detail. The person with the most matches, when all cards are collected, is the winner.
- Only take 1 turn. No extra turns awarded. This variation increases competition.
Game Play Tip
- Avoid handing your opponents an advantage, DO NOT describe the 2nd card, if a match is not made.
